DIPLOMA IN LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT

In the recent past the Logistics Management has gained recognition as one of the important business functions and a tool for developing competitiveness. Logistics is, therefore, of paramount importance to any organization, which delivers products and services to its customers. Effective and efficient physical movement of the products will give an edge to the company over its competitors. Logistics is one of the major enablers of growth of trade and commerce activity in a country. The scope of logistics ranges from the management of material procurement and manufacturing to the delivery of finished products to its ultimate customers / consumers.

CILT (Pak) sensing this need of Logistical Organizations in Pakistan is launching a Diploma Course in Logistics & Transport in collaboration with Burraq Associates at PIA Training Centre, Karachi in the month of March, 2009.

The Course is due to start on Tuesday 5th January, 2010 at PIA Training Centre.

Following are the salient features of the Course:

  1. The Course will be conducted as an evening program from 1800 to 2100 hours, two times a week on Tuesday and Thursday in 72 hours (6 hours a week spread over 12 weeks). This duration enables the faculty to cover the modules thoroughly and the students to derive full benefit.
  2. The faculty is qualified, experienced and trained with proper aptitude for teaching.
  3. Instead of merely lecturing by the faculty active participation by the students is encouraged.
  4. Each student gets a complete set of course material.
  5. State of the art training facilities in safe and air-conditioned environment at PIA Training Centre, Karachi Airport, Karachi.
  6. National and Multi-national organizations like Pakistan International Airlines, Karachi Port Trust, TAQ Logistics, DHL Express * Logistics, Hinopak Motors Limited, Sirius Logistics Pakistan, Engro Vo Pak Terminal Ltd., KESC, General Freight, Colgate Palmolive Pakistan, Pakistan Oilfields Limited, Dawlance (Pak) Ltd., Atlas Engineering Ltd., KASB Bank, NED University and Pakistan National Shipping Corporations sponsor different CILT Courses.
  7.  Eligibility for the subject course is B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / BBA / B.E.
  8. This course is very useful for persons working in supervisory capacity in any Logistics / Transport organization. The course is equally beneficial to those who want to make their career in Logistics and Transport Management. This profession is highly demanded by large business concerns in Pakistan and abroad.
  1. The Diploma Course of six modules is divided into two parts (Part I & II). Subjects for all the six modules are enclosed as Appendix ‘A’. Registration fee for the full course is Rs, 24,900/-. Last date for submission of the Registration Form is 1st January 2010.
  2. Twenty to Twenty Five (20-25) participants will be admitted for the Diploma Course in first come first served basis.
  3. Registration Performa attached as Appendix  ‘B’ duly completed be sent to CILT Pakistan’s office along with a cross cheque / pay order / bank draft drawn on CILT Pakistan at the following address latest by 1st January , 2010.
